islands account for miles and miles of natural sand beaches.
Long Island's proximity to New York
City is critical, but our identity is far removed from the streets of Manhattan.

Seashore is a garnet sand natural beach strewn with heather and wild beach plum.
The largest herd of miniature white tail deer in NY state live on Fire Island. Because
of the fragile eco system, all flora and fauna are dwarved, resulting in the tiny
deer and a miniature pine forest.
